REPORT FROM WILLIAMSBURG
by Mike Elmo

Radio Show put on by Frankie Thomas and Jan Merlin with an assist from Cadet
Chuck
Greetings from the Crew of the XV20, Crimson Star.
This report is for all our Friends at Swapsale. To say the least, our
Shore Leave at Williamsburg's Film Festival was a Stellar event! All the
Crew of the XV20 had a GREAT TIME!! WE arrived on Friday and got right into the
swing of things! We joined up with Cadets Chuck Lassen, Ed and Rae Pippin and
Cowboy Pals Jo and Paul Webb. We stormed the dealers room and viewed all the
dealers that we wanted to visit later. There in the dealers room we joined up
with Grand Cadets, Frankie Thomas and Barbara and Jan Merlin. As soon as
we sighted each other, hands went up into the air, waves followed and hugs went
all around!! We laughed and caught up on the past months since our last get
together. Joining Frankie was his wonderful Daughter, Julie, who is just a
perfect delight to be with!! Warm and funny, she was a real plus!!

While with the Grand Cadets, we had many of our goodies signed and took many
photos for our albums. It was really super to be reunited with our DEAR Friends
once again!!!
Later that day, we were treated to a Tom Corbett Radio Show reenactment. What
fun!!! We were transported to a distant world in our Solar System for a great
adventure. Cadet Chuck filled in for the roll of Astro and did a fantastic job!!
None of us wished that the Show would end! After the Show, the drawing for the
Space Quilt was held and I was blown away when my name was picked as the
winner!! This wonderful Quilt will go on display in the Rocket Room back at
Space Ranger Earth Base #3! I will have to send Cadet Bruce photos after it is
displayed for all our Swapsale Friends to view!
Ranger Mike is presented the Space Quilt by Cadet Ed.
After dinner, Cadet Mike Turco treated us to his computerized telescope
and we viewed Jupiter, Saturn and other cosmic sights in the parking lot
of the Festival's H.Q. Many, many thanks to Cadet Mike for sharing his
evening and telescope with us all!!
Grand Ranger Jimmy Lydon is presented with Space Ranger Jacket by
Ranger Mike.
Saturday was full of events and we all took advantage of the goings on
and raided the dealers room again. While there, we had the great
pleasure to present Ms. Donna Martell and Mr. Jimmy Lydon with Space
Ranger Jackets, Hats and T-shirts. Donna played the Daughter of a
Chieftain on a far off Planetoid in the Rocky Jones Space Ranger T.V.
Series and Jimmy played Biffin Cardoza, an exchange pilot from the
Planet Hurculan. He became Rocky's copilot on the XV3, Silver Moon. They were
both thrilled to receive these gifts and we were just as thrilled
to give them. A great thanks to them both for helping make our childhood
so much FUN!!

Later that evening was the closing Banquet and we were treated to a fine
dinner and great entertainment!! After the dinner and entertainment it
was time to say our good-byes. Many more hugs and hand shakes followed as we
wished each of us a safe trip home! As the old saying goes. "All Good
Things".
Till next time, Keep your sights on the Stars!
